Whopper Plopper Turtle

Let’s face it. Fishing lures for bass are not really designed for bass. They are designed to lure fishermen and women to purchase based on sight. Fish can’t really see color, but lures come in every color possible. The more attractive to people, the better the sales. Now I’ve found a fishing lure that has a little science behind its creation. This one is something I can promote proudly because it actually works. I think it’s the first turtle lure I’ve ever seen and now that I know the science of it, I can’t wait to get mine in the water. I’m calling it the whopper plopper turtle. Just because I like that name.

Whopper Plopper

Research tells us that turtles enjoy eggs. Fish eggs, that is, and that’s why fish will strike at them every time. It’s not so much that they want to eat the turtle as it is they want to protect their unhatched eggs. I personally think this is brilliant. I know that we are told that fish can’t see color, but they see shapes and they don’t like this one hanging around their nest. The different colors are important for another reason. If the water is murky you want a bright color so it can be seen. If the water is super clear and the sun is shining, some sparkle helps the fish see the lure.

I’m going to order several colors of this whopper plopper turtle to see if there is one color that gets better results. After I give it some field time, I will post some photos here of some of my catches as proof that it really works. But you don’t have to wait for my results. Get yours today and then let me know how your field test went. Maybe we can compare notes. Click on the Facebook link below and share your photos with me. I’ll give you the credit and we can start a contest for some great prizes to be determined later.
