ANDY’S STORY CONTINUES

I want to share a LITTLE BIT of Andy’s Story so you can know the person behind this site. I was born to an unwed mother who did not want me so she gave me to my grandmother to raise when I was 2 1/2 weeks old. A wonderful family adopted me when I was 4. I can’t imagine how my life would have turned out if that had not happened.

Thank God I’m a Country Boy

Andy's Childhood Story

We didn’t have a lot when I was growing up, but I was taught that being rich doesn’t have anything to do with money. We had everything we needed because we had FAMILY. I lived on a farm in rural Georgia and had to work. Of course when I became a teenager and knew everything I realized that farming was not for me so I joined the United States Air Force when I was 17. It didn’t take me long to realize that a career in the military was not for me either.

Silly Ambitions

Andy's Story Military

I loved to sing so I thought my future was definitely in music. My goal was to emulate Elvis and become rich and famous. I studied voice in college to prepare myself for the music career ahead. BUT GOD had a different idea. He wanted me to use my musical talents in ministry. After years of fighting that idea, I finally surrendered to His call. That was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The best decision was deciding to ask Jesus into my heart. AND in case my wife is reading this, the second best decision was marrying her! (Actually, that’s true whether she is reading this or not!)

After I finally surrendered to the ministry I began as a Minister of Music and served in both full time and bivocational positions in several churches in Georgia and Texas until 1998. It was then that God began to make changes in my life once again and He called me to become an Associational Missionary. I have served the Mount Vernon Baptist Association in Wrightsville and now serve the Georgia Baptist Association in Washington, GA. Serving 41 churches in six counties keeps me pretty busy so that I don’t have the time to devote to blogging and posting that I would like to have, but I really enjoy this work and am thankful for Rory and Tanya Ricord and their help for so many in making dreams come true.

Being Part of a Family is a major part of Andy’s Story

Andy's Family

As I said earlier, my family is very important to me. It always has been. My wife and I have three children and three grandchildren and we deeply love them all. Andy’s story would not be complete without our children and grandchildren. Our goal is to make sure they are prepared for life. We haven’t done a great job of that always, but we are very proud of the adults they have become. FAMILY is also one of the things I love about this new venture. We are part of a business family that shares knowledge and gifts to help each other be the very best we can be. I never knew that I would love this so much but now I know WHY I do. We would love to have you as part of the family. Just visit this page to learn how.
